I have an Ace 350 with the standard DD coil, and it seems to chime on everything. I can swing in one direction and get a bell tone, and back the opposite direction over the same location and get a truncated bell tone. When I finally find out what the item is, it is a little tiny piece of melted slag from an aluminum can someone threw into a campfire, and there are four or five others just like it within a foot square area. My own residential property was apparently used as a dumping ground for boxes of nails; I can dig up twenty or thirty unbent but rusty nails in the average square foot (which has made me suspicious; I wonder what someone tried to hide under all those nails so a metal detector couldn't find it). I've also hunted campgrounds and found huge deposits of nails around a campfire ring, not bent as though they were in wood that was burned, but just layers of them lying flat in piles, getting rusty.
Anyway, I'm wondering what the advantages are to the Super Sniper coil? Better separation of signals? Deeper?
