did some testing whith a nail , found when i swung the coil length wise that is from tip to tip i got a short beep on the head and the tip of the nail but when i turned and swept sideways no signal at all in discrimanat mode now i put a dime next to the nail and swung sidways i could get a good signal but when i swung the length of the nail the dime fell silent or would only make a short sticcoto blip and when i turned the disc past iron it disapeared all together when i put the nail right on top of the dime good by dime and to even get a blip i could use no disc now i did another test buried a nickle2.5" and placed a 1/4th" bolt directley on top of the suface no sound so it was masked out and i cant get the detector to find iron in the discrimanate mode that is nails thin bolts i know the m-6 would have found the nails and bolts whithout being in all metal mde so hear is the problem whith that if i have a dime buried derectly below a nail chances are the nail will hide the dime and if im using any disc it will really hide it if it could at least hit the nail i could clean it and then re sweep and then find the dime so that is one weakness of the cibola i have found so in my opinion its best to search in disc but have the knob left of iron and if you miss a dime next to a nail if you search in another derection you will probly find it but if its derectly below a bolt or nails dont bet on it you will miss it and the cibola does not have a all metal mode to search whith exepth for pinpointing otherwise its a great machine but on wider pieces of iron it will go off good but around house sites one of the most common things lost will be nails and it is the nails that can mask a coin if in very close proximity or over the coin moor tests later
