Nail board test with 6 diff. detectors

This video is not meant to be bias in any way. These are the most comparable size coils I own for each machine. I have to keep myself busy during the winter months, so I thought I would make a video of how each of these machines reacts in a simulated nail bed. I realize mineralization plays further into the equation. This video is simply to show how each machine might act in a nail infested area with the given coil shown. Take from it what you will. Hope you enjoy!http://youtu.be/Y1UbqdIF-a4

I'd be much more interested in your results if you were using enough discrimination to eliminate nails to see how each detector would respond to the coin. Using all metal, you could have just replaced the coin with another nail. Your test is just showing that the detector is responding to all the targets. Also your sweep speed (I think) is a little slower than most folks would use in actual field use. But I appreciate the effort.

I agree with Tom, before placing the coin in the NBT, you should have set each machine to JUST disc (knock) out the nail(s) and then did your test. In those iron infested sites its very rare I would hunt in a all metal mode...the noise would give ya a head ache in a few minutes. Even on my MXT Pro, with the iron infested sites I hunt, being there is so much ferrous stuff around, I'm not going for depth. I will just turn my threshold down just enough to not hear it....basically turning it into a M6 more of a silent search machine to get rid of some of the noise.

Hadn't thought of that. If I find time Sunday, I will give that a try as well. I want to try the F-75 with the 11" on the NBT anyway.

Well, here it is! This is not the way I hunt, but for those of you who do, this is what you might expect with the coil given and similar settings.(with the iron silenced) As you can see, smaller coils are very beneficial in the nail beds.http://youtu.be/LHw7ZDKZmTQ
