Nad, just finished up your V

You sure sent me some wild looking Tesoro V. I worked around what you had done to it. Nice job with the Garrett battery pack....
Not what I expected when I opened the box.

You now have a 10 turn GB pot installed. Moved your pinpoint button over to the middle.
Frequency toggle moved above the GB pot and added a toggle switch above it. So you can switch back and forth from Disc to All
Metal modes. Now you don't have to take your Disc. control out of adjustment to hunt in All Metal.

If any of you folks are having trouble with your detector and it makes noise that's not normal, take a good look at the searchcoil connector.
There maybe a wire shorting out on another inside the connector. To remove the plastic from the metal portion of the connector. Press
down on the small metal tab and pull the plastic connector part out. Take a look at the wires, see if any are touching. Sometimes they just
touch when you are connecting the coil or adjusting the coil or touching the wire with your hand. If any are making contact or look like they
might. Take a small probe and push them apart. I filled the area between Nad's with some clear gel sealer. He should never have that problem again.

Sven,if you don't have pictures to post,I'll do it...I think that if we painted the cover and got someone to do new graphics,, we could claim this a "new" model by Tesoro..Didn't look like a V when I sent it to you, now even less...We'll call it the VSD-1 (Vaquero, Sven ,Dave).. Look, thank you, paper work, then next " toy" will be on the way down..And, while the turn around time was fast, I had this strange feeling you two were going to elope, Cordially NAD

But, my digital camera decided it didn't want to turn on anymore as of Weds.
I understand it's sort of common for Nikon cameras to develop this problem, related to a bad on and off switch.
Anyways, waiting to hear back from Nikon, hope they fix it for free. It was sent in last July for a new CCD sensor
that went bad. Free repair---class action recall.

I have a cheapy camera that may work as a last resort, have to dig it out Sunday.

Have you tried hot melt glue to insulate wires? I use it a lot and it works really good. If you need to remove it,heat it with a hair dryer and peel it off.
