The Sov's are great beach machines. DOn't go by the Manuals Quick Set settings. Notch and Disc. should both be set to zero. Even at zero the Sov will ALWAYS reject iron!!!! The only All Metal Modes on a Sov GT are the All Metal and Pinpoint Modes. Set your sensitivity to Manual and adjust it to the highest setting you can use wihout a lot of falsing. Usually around the 10-11 o'clock position. Keep in mind that the Sensitivity control works jsut the opposite as it has on any detector that you have ever owned. Turning it clockwise lowers the sensitivity. Turning it Counterclockwise increases sensitivity. Hope this helps!
