Mystery coin turns out to be, two cent piece.:minelab:

When i dug this coin the couragin was so bad i couldent even tell what it was. after a hot peroxide bath it took off some, but still in bad shape. i can see the shield, but cant see the date. ill keep working on it. also a 1943 merc. and four wheats:cool:
 
Humm it has a nickel tent to it on the side..... sure it aint a shield nickel?

Good luck on seeing if you can bring her back. 2 cent pieces are normally some of my best finds as far as condition. I didnt have the measurements but i know those shields look a lot alike and normally the shield nickel is trashed. good find.

Measurement is one way to tell but just run it past the coil and the number will be a clear indicator in conduct..
