Mystery Bracelet

New member
When I dug this it had a good sound and Good numbers (But I don't remember what they were)

I thought it might be a bracelet but just put it in my pouch because it was not Silver or Gold.

I just cleaned it up and you all can see the decorations but it was the marking that confused me

Yes, it has a makers mark and 928 which would indicate Silver but it does not look or feel like Silver so it is a FAKE or What?!

It has that rusty orange look of iron! What type of signal does it give to you on your detector now that it has been 'found'.

Any sign that it was plated silver at some time?

Does it fit? :beers:

I don't recall any sterling silver finds that had a rusty orange look to them like that. I had a number of rings that were silver plated and most of the plating had come off over the years revealing a ring of iron or some base metal.

FUNNY

The bracelet has had more cleaning and now it is clearly Sterling 925 and still not shiny

It is pretty and fits my daughter better than me so it could be a child's or teenagers size

I will try cleaning it overnight but i do believe it is Fake and it would not be the first Fake item we have found

Always disappointing but still some fun

Try rubbing with some fine steel wool with olive oil before you throw it in the junk,I dug WWII pilot wings that were .925 and it looked just like your braclet till I scrubbed the corrosion off.

Nice find Eva !
I'd guess is that it's silver plated ?

Thought of another. Gee, I'm on a roll....

Hire any one of these, and I'll bet, when its all said and done, you'll even know who lost it.

Thanks Eva. You made my day!

Believe it or not some items were marked sterling and are not, only plated....it amazes me that someone would fake a metal like sterling. Faking gold I can see, but silver???

I have found a couple rings marked sterling that were clearly just plated junk. I think you have a brass or copper bracelet, sorry!

Isn't that one of the hoop bracelets that were popular some years back.. All the young girls wore multiple rings on one or both wrists..
That may not have been your question about what it was..But I remembered my Daughter used to load up her wrists with Silver plated bracelets that looked like the one you found...

Here It Is After Much Cleaning and Polishing

Gun Metal Looking even as there is a sliver of Silver Color at the edge

But I may still bring it to my Jeweler but likely as previously stated FAKE
