Myrtle Beach

Can anyone provide info on hunting the beaches at Myrtle Beach? I will be in the area the last week of August celebrating our 35th anniversary. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Not quite sure what your question may be. All beaches in SC are public and metal detecting is allowed. Some beaches are quite difficult to gain access to but the beach from the high tide line is public.

Thanks I appeciate the info. Some places have gotten very restrictive when it comes to detetcting.

MB is a long, long sandy, sandy beach. The wet sand area is very wide at low tide and the dry sand is a narrow strip at high tide everywhere I have been. The only time I have found gold in the wide wet sand area is when the sand has been cut away to form pools or gullies. I have found gold up near the area where the wet sand turns to dry as there is normally a slope and the targets are not as deep. The dry sand is always a crap shoot cuz you never know what's in it. I know it is hit hard though. Out on the flat wet area, you would be wasting your time. I've found some nice rings there but, I've worked my ass off doing it. If you like the older crowd, divorcees, and maybe even to "shag", Ocean Annie's is a fun place in the late afternoon. I'll be there late June through the 4th looking for those gullies or steep slopes. Good luck.
