Myrtle beach finds....

Well-known member
Just returned from a few days at Myrtle beach with a few finds.
Got my first cell phone and it still works!!
Got a few coins and a pile of bottle caps and late yesterday evening I hit the ring..
thought I had a good one until I returned to the hotel and saw 14 karat plated.. what a let down this was.
Oh well, got to eat some great seafood during my stay!!
Thanks for looking,
Felix

Hey congrats on the finds! Yeah sucks when you think you have a nice ring and it turns out to be less than what you thought, but hey, a rings a ring! We're you hunting dry sand, wet sand or in the water? Thanks

I was searching in the wet sand during or just after low tide.
The area was very flat where this was found.. also got a few coins so I figured maybe something else would come up if I stayed in the area.

I echo BH: a ring is a ring. Furthermore, unless you hunt as your livelihood, a GOLD ring is a gold ring, plated or not!

I wonder if that Tiger Eye ring is origionally from Spokane Washington?

Felix, does the piece actually say, 14K plated, or 14KP? 14KP is 14 karat plumb, meaning it cannot be less than 14K. Looks like a winner from where I'm sittin' mate! That is a Tiger's Eye stone too, looks sueet!

Inside the ring is stamped "14 karat GE".
You can't see it from the photo, but on the back of the ring the gold plating has come off.
It was low light when I found it and I thought I had found a very nice gold ring judging by the stone and the color.
Thanks for the comments though... I guess it is not a bad find after all.. sure looked better in the scoop than a rusty bottle cap!!!

Still a nice ring, looks real. I have found several cell phones and they have all been non working, yours must of been a recent drop?...HH
