My XL PRO

Craig

New member
I haven't posted on the forum for a long time. Saturday morning I was reading the post about the XL PRO. I decided to take mine to a local school. I was using my Bigfoot and within an hour + I had close to $6.00 in change. Later on in the late afternoon I decided to hit another school for the same amount of time. This time I walked away with a Little over $6.00. I had forgotten how quiet the XL PRO runs compared to my MXT. Sunday afternoon I searched an old home in my area with lots of trash, using the Bigfoot. Found two pennies and a dime. Then I got that sweet ping that the XL PRO makes when you hit silver. 3" down was a 1941 Quarter. :clapping: I have to go back and hit that spot again with a small coil. Which I am looking to buy when I find one for the right price.
I have to admit I was thinking about selling my XL PRO to buy a DFX. That would have been a big mistake:rant: Thanks for the posts that changed my mine!

You are now a XL PRO lover for life.
The DFX is a nice detector but I was glad the one i was testing was not my unit.
I went back to my XL PRO and said I will never sell ya.
Get the bulleye 5.3 or the 3X5 DD coil.
I like the 3X5 DD coil for the trashie area
You will have a killer setup.:clapping:
:beers:

Is that a good pairup for you? Since you decided to keep the XL? What do you use the MXT for mainly?

Regards,

Kenfen

Just depends on how I feel when I am going out the door, which detector I am going to use. Both are excellent detectors! I mainly just coin shoot.

Real nice setup clondike, and just about as good as it gets. How do you like the bigfoot?
I have an Eagle Spectrum and bought a DFX but it didn't like me so i traded it for an XLT and couldn't be happier but would also like to try the XL Pro someday. HH Bill

I love this Setup and the big foot is hard to beat when you want to hunt a large area fast.
Also pinpoint is NICE with the Bigfoot.
For me the DFX and XLT didn't work well for me.
I feed the XL PRO can go as deep as the XLT and very close as as deep as the DFX on most areas except the DFX will do salt water better then the XL PRO.

Hi Craig

It appears your Xl Pro treats you well and very impressive hunting day BTW. I had a DFX and i know some just love them but it wasn't for me or my area due to EMI problems. I still think the single frequency 6.59kHz are more stable and very capable detectors that can hold their own with most multipurpose detectors. If you decide to get a smaller coil in IMO the 5.3 is an excellent compromise for depth and separation , the 350 snooper gets very good depth and the best separation .

Hi Bill,
I have gotten my small coil. It is a 6" Eliminator coil, sold by Jimmy Sierra. I took it out for a test run and was impressed. I was able to detect under High Tension wires with out any interferences. I was a happy camper. Didn't find anything old, just clad, but I was happy with it. Detector ran real quiet !

Hi Craig,

I never used the Eliminator or any Sierra coil but have an interest in the Bigfoot and now perhaps i may think more about the 6" coil because my area is plagued with High Voltage lines everywhere. Now i'm curious on depth capabilties of the Eliminator and perhaps you could post your findings. Thanks for the info and good luck with it.

HH Bill

I also have a Bigfoot for my XL PRO and MXT :whites:. I use the Bigfoot to sweep an area. Then if I feel there is a hot spot. I'll go back over it with the Eliminator Coil. Also this coil is great under metal bleachers and play ground equipment. I was told to bury a dime at 8" in a test area and was able to pick up the dime, but with a weak signal.
I use several Jimmy Sierra products and have been satisfied with all of his products. :beers:
