it wasn't a total loss. Had our club hunt Sat and about ten people showed up. It rained a little bit just as we got started and then it let up. It was really slow going and I'm thinking man I'm going to get skunked on the silver and sure enough I did.:veryangry: I got a little bit of clad and only four wheaties that are in pretty rough shape. The dates were 2-46's, a 52 and a no date. Got a cheap ring and my first $2 Canadian coin or as some of us call them here in the US a toonie. My best find for the day was a cool 5 cent trade token. On the back it says The Pike Recreation with the address 1429 4th Ave. It's from the Seattle area and I'm guessing it's from the early 1900's, but without a Wa token book I don't know for sure. I heard that only one silver rosie was found when we took our lunch break and out of ten people that's not good at all. Some more good news is that my buddy Lee's XS got back from repairs just in time for the hunt and it was working just fine, but he might as well been using his White's as all the Minelabs just weren't clicking Sat. Now for the bad news. We left kind of early as the rain really started coming down and just decided to head for home. About ten minutes into our drive home I noticed that my windshield wipers were running real slow even on the fast mode. Then I looked at my gauges and they weren't working and my speedometer seemed to be stuck at 95 MPH and I knew we are only going 55. The further we got down the freeway I finally figured that my alternator went out and we were just running off the battery. The rain was really coming down hard now and with the battery getting low I was using my wipers as little as possible which mad it even harder to see. About fifty miles from home Lee says. I sure hope we make it home. We are both keeping our fingers crossed and then it happened. Eight miles from home my battery got so low that my old 91 Chevy S-10 finally crapped out and Lee and I looked at each other and I'm sure we had the same look on our faces. Luckily I had my cell phone with me and called a towing company. Only had to wait about 15 minutes which shocked the heck out of me and I guess the good news from all of this is that the bill was only $112. The hook up fee was $70 and then it's $4.25 per mile. Thank God it didn't happen when we were 60 miles from home. Wish I had a better detecting story to tell you fellows and pictures of some better finds, but that's what happens sometimes. Thanks for looking, HH and does anyone know where I can get a cheap alternator?
