My Wife's Birthday And I Went Detecting...

Sooper Dave

Well-known member
Was out driving through the country with the family Saturday and passed by an old school. We pulled in and checked it out and it looked like a nice place for some keepers to be hiding. I didn't think I would get to go back then as it was my wife's birthday, but I got the green light to go back before dark. (thanks honey) I picked a section and searched half of it in two hours. I dug 14 wheats, an Indian, 2 Buffalos and a V nickel but not a silver one. I was able to get back out for another two hour hunt Sunday and searched the other half of where I left off. I found two Mercs a Washington and a tiny sterling ring but only one Wheatie. Funny how that works out. I'm hoping there's more to be found there after they cut the grass off the rest of the area. good job of sniffing those out....!!!!

Good story and congratulations on another successful weekend. You're setting the bar pretty high.

Thanks for posting the pictures.

Nice "Wife's Birthday Finds" Dave. I think your obligated to shower her with old coins. I maybe wrong, but I think that is a requirement. I'll have to check the manual.

Congratulations and thanks for the pictures. Should be quite a bit more there.
