My wife used my 31" Sampson and she doesn't even metal detect

My birthday was the other day and my wife bought me a Garrett carrot, a metal detecting book and hands me a piece of paper, I flip it over to find this (pictured). She tells me that she buried 119 targets. The funny thing is that she's never gone on a hunt with me, nor does she have any interest, but I swear that I don't see any evidence of her cutting plugs on any of the property, lol! So far I have retrieved 21 targets, a handful of wheat pennies and buffalo nickels, a one ounce copper round, a one ounce copper bar and a one gram silver bar.

She is a keeper. You treat her right!

Thanks everyone! She definitely is a keeper. I realized this well before this gesture. I'm not sure how I can return the favor to her though? I really wish that she'd get into the hobby, but she has no interest at all. Maybe I should use that Sampson and bury her car keys and hand her my F2?

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes and the kind comments regarding my wife. We will just keep them between you and I, she'll get a big head if I tell her.

Bury some diamond rings in the yard and then see if she'll consider detecting! Oh, not too deep and make a fall back map just in case. Years ago I had a church member who buried her husband (cremation urn) in the backyard and ten years later forgot where- she wanted to sell the house, but was afraid to leave him! I had not started detecting then or I could have been a hero.

That's awesome.Your wife is a great sport.

To return the favor on her birthday, you can always set up a treasure hunt with a map, like that movie national treasure. Makes something extra special out of the birthday.

And happy birthday!

Your one lucky man.
