My wife has won the battle but not the war! ......................

On Friday, Debbie left for Kingsland, Texas to visit her Aunt for a few days. You will never know how much I encouraged her to make that short trip...she has been on my case for months telling me that the doctor said I can not do this or that until my legs improve. She acts like she is on that doctor's payroll with her antics of watching me like a hawk.

Well, as faith would have it, Sam Durham called me yesterday morning to let me know that he would be moving some cows and calves to another pasture and that I would be welcomed to come help and maybe stay for dinner. He said that I could ride in the four wheel drive pickup truck. I told him that I would think about it and call him back in an hour or two.

Needless to say, my mind started working ninety miles an hour...maybe I could try to ride one of Sam's horses, really not interested in riding in a pickup truck. Debbie is in Kingsland, and anything she does not know will not hurt her! I thought long and hard about how I could have my cake and eat it too...how I could possibly move some cows from the back of a horse again.

When I called back, Sam's wife Vicki answered the telephone. After a minute or two of chit chat, I told her that I was thinking about coming out there to help Sam move some of the cows. Right off the bat, Vicki said that I would be welcomed, but do not even think about asking Sam to give me a horse to ride. She said that Debbie had talked to her earlier in the week and warned her that I might attempt to ride one of Sam's horses. Can you believe this, Debbie told on me! I tried to convince Vicki that Debbie was just joking, but she did not buy it. That woman might have won this battle, but she will not win the war! Naturally, I did not go out there, not really interested in riding in a pickup truck.

It is kinda boring around here this morning, I need to find something fun to do. Cutting the grass is not my idea of fun. I have already read the Sunday newspaper twice, watched the news on TV, and tried to ambush the neighbor's little ugly dog that keeps pi$$ing on my truck tires. That nerd looking dog knows that I am trying to nail his tail and he waits until I am in the house to do his daily deed. Sooner or later, he will make a mistake and I will nail him!

Well, I better find something to do around here. Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas) :)

knows you better than you know yourself, you should have known she would do that:).sorry you didn't get to get out of the house.those dogs that whiz on your tires and take a dump in your garden are always doing that between 5a.m. and 6.30 a.m.:)

Debbie has probably recruited dozens of "spys"-who report directly to her-about your every move while she is away.

There has to be a way to out-wit them, after all they are women!:lol:

Remember you are the master at this game. Some of the advise you have given me and Wayne on dealings with similar issues in the past is proof of this!

Think of it as a challenge and I am confident you will find a way to out fox them!:D:D

Like I said, she might have won this small battle, but she will not win the war! I still can not believe that she outsmarted me, and it is sorta in my craw the way that Sam's wife told me that she figured I would try to ride one of Sam's horses. Vicki thought it was funny, but I assure you that it was not very funny on my end. I do not know if I can tolerate the pain and numbness while riding a horse at this time, I will not know for sure until I try again. Debbie does not realize that Sam is not the only one that I know that has horses...she best change her way of thinking because I guarantee you that some day I will be riding horses again...I just have to find a way to do it, simple as that! That woman is going to find out that she is not as smart as she thinks she is. Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas) :)

watching me when I went outside to get the Sunday paper. He never barked or moved a muscle, just sat there on his butt watching me. When I finished reading the paper, I walked back outside and there was no sign of him anywhere, but he had pi$$ed on my truck tires again. He knew exactly what he was going to do when I went back into the house from getting the Sunday paper...he is just one cold, ugly, calculating little dog that seems to take great pleasure in pi$$ing on my truck tires. Sooner or later I will nail him to a cross! Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas) :)

That tried to pee on this cars' tire and the car tire kicked him away...pretty funny...I have looked and searched, but can't find it. There is a spray that you can get at any pet/vet store that will keep animals at bay. Good luck....but I do have a Sheridan Silver Streak pellet gun that will also do the job quite nicely!!!

Believe me. if Alice can ride, you should be able to. Heck, Alice was not even supposed to live after her accident. Then the docs said she will live but she will not walk. "Okay she will walk but she will never be able to do anything. " Alice has out-toughed them at every step. She is riding now, while waiting in line for another hip replacement. You will do it.

And as well, come up here,{seriously].....we have lots of horses and she would never know :) :)

sunny skies, clear water my friend

...have you ever thought of parking on a sheet of tin and rigging it up to your battery charger??? Oh, son. It will make an INDELIBLE impression on that scourge-of-the-earth canine!

I thought...since you have a little time on your hands.....enough said. :D

Wishing you the GREATEST of success! <><

buddy we can not let a mere woman get away with that :ranting:
There is a principle involved here, i have also been on the receiving end of this kind of cruel conspiracy! The fact that they mean well is well, kinda sorta mitigating, but........
I am waiting for you to show us how to handle this situation.... <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZNxdm799YYCA' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/3/3_11_3.gif' alt='Cowboy' border=0></a>

I handle this with Debbie. I now have a bigger problem, the dog chewed one of the cushions on the couch last night...that dog is going to be in big trouble with her. Debbie does not allow Sadie to sleep on the couch and she will not be a happy camper when she sees that cushion. Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas) :)
