My very first Silver. YAY!!!

Confused

New member
I was waiting for the Department of Building and Safety to open this morning. I had about an hour to kill, so I grabbed my CTX and started on a small patch of grass. A few minutes later I hear a high pitch and look down at a 12.41 6" deep. Now remember, I am totally new at this so I start to dig and close to 6" down I see a silver coin. Low and behold, it's my first silver coin. It's a 1942 dime. I was so freakin excited I wanted to yell and jump up and down. I didn't yell, but I did do a little jig. A little while later I get a 1943 dime. I dug up a few nickels and clad pennies. When I got home I went to see the dates of the other coins and I see my first buffalo nickel. It rang in at 12.12 @ 4" deep.

Great job!

I'm going back Saturday. I forgot to mention that I got kicked out of that area. One of the workers said it was ok, but when his boss came by and saw me he wasn't too happy. He said when they finish the construction there, then he had no problem with me diggin till my hearts content.

Double check that 1942 date to see if it's not this one:

DaytonaGold, I'm not sure what I'm looking at. Can you take a close up of yours. My merc looks like it just says 1942.

Great job, I've found a gold chain and diamond earring with my ctx 3030 this year. Last year I found a serious ring and some silver with my safari , but still looking for my first silver with the ctx 3030.
Hope I can have some luck as You had today.
