Dang . it took a few seconds for me to see what I had in my hand,
I knew it was a dime, but so??? Id been diggin ALL DAY in a campground,
up high in the Mtns. PLENTY of aluminum trash, and a few coins thus far.
A nyhow,, the head looks a little different??? My brain went nuts in those first few seconds,, It was kinda funny.
Hmm, Old ? Canadian maybe? has to be a dime,??Its Old, no?? its a canadian, hmm??
when I stood up, I wiped the back off, it said "ONE DIME"!!!!
Ive never held one of these before, just seen pics on here,,,and I recognized the 'ONE DIME'
Man, I let out a big ole WOOOOOOHOOOOO, and ran back to our camp to show the family.
Oh,,,yeah,, so ,its a 1901 dime, and she sure is pretty! ! !
Really nice condition, as far as I'm concerned.
I was in Relic mode,6x10 DD, trigger primary, and default on the disc, and no earphones.
the coin was only 1 1/2 inches down.
I'm thinkin, sometime back they put in a modern slab outhouse, (more modern than 1901) at least,
anyhow, I was 15 -20 feet away from tthe outhouse.
So, when they had a backhoe diggin and spreadin and levelin, they must have turned it up.
Cuz dang, 109 years of pine needles fallin.
Oh well, but that made it worth diggin all that trash ,all day.
And i learned a little more about my machine,
and I proved to myself, that you all were right, that DD coil, does a FINE job in trashy areas,
I I figured out how to rock it and move it, to separate siganals, that were too close to each other.
Definitely My best day huntin yet.
Thanks you guys, all of ya, for sharin your knowledge and experiences.
Couldnt have done it without ya!
Happy Huntin to all
