Well I have been studying on getting my first metal detector for the last year and a half. Finally decided on a Vaquero from all the posts I have read on it.The detector showed up Friday Jan.16 I put it together and performed the air tests. This detector is really light weight and balanced really nice, got to take it out in the yard Sat. and learned how to ground balance the machine(easier than I thought it would be).Sunday morning I got to go to the local high school & tot lot to try the Vaquero out.Hunted for about 2 1/2 hours and ended up with .75 cents , a turquoise ring , a hair clasp , a box cutter and a nut.I know I am really going to enjoy this detector when I learn what it it telling me . Congrats on the new Vaquero. Sounds like you are well on your way already! Hope that turquoise is mounted in sterling.

Good start and good machine to start with. The Tesoro's are real machines. The ones who get toys or overcomplicated machines can easily become frustrated. Patience and practice and a capable machine.
digging tools - pinpointing - digging properly - batteries - pouch - coils - headphones - more Tesoro's
Congrats :detecting:

Congrats Mark,

I think you are catchin right on.

It warms my hart when I hear someone connecting with their machine.

It's what I experienced when I got my first Tesoro.

The Vaquero is a pleasing machine to me.

I had some that were much more frustrating. That made me appreciate

tha smoothe runnin Tesoro,es.

The weight saved me from so much pain, I am stuck on Tesoro'es.

Anyway, have fun with your V, I know I will with mine,

Tabdog
