My Usual Saturday Hunt

Didn't find all the gold we were looking for. but we did exhaust ourselves after a 90 degree plus day:rant: 1st picture is from some colonial sites, not all of it colonial though. The pickins were slim, and the dry dirt didn't help our depth any. It's always better with moist ground! The second picture is from a pond that is having a bunch of buildings put up around it. It was popular in the 20's, but with the disturbed soil and lack of moisture, we couldn't break the 1940's barrier. Even the oldest coil, a 1930 Wheat, had lots of wear on it, indicating it was lost in the 40's. It was a one shot deal and we were lucky to gain permission from the owner for 1 hunt. Thanks to him!! Not a stellar day, but not bad. It's always a great day if you are swinging a machine. HH
