I just returned from 2 days hunting the Jersey shore, here's the loot! Yo Todd...you ready to hunt some beaches yet? Note: Found with the Excalibur and Explorer.

Charles,

Saw post of you explorer conversion on the Beach forum. Very very pretty. Did you vacuum form the lexan? Looks like you got your CNC up and humping. I've been helping a friend set up a mini mill, he bought a three axis CNC program called flashcut that looks quite nice. Can convert from DFX files and is quite powerful for the price.

Charles was that you Thursday morning? I hunted down in the wet sand below you. I did not see you had the excal hip mounted. I would have stopped to chat. Glad you did well. You had a very good guy showing you around. If there is gold to be found, he knows where to find it.
Glad you had fun.

Thanks Joe, yes I vacuum formed the lexan. The cnc machine can do some pretty cool stuff. Flashcut looks nice, none of this cnc stuff is cheap though thats for sure. I went with Mach2 for my controler and Gecko drives for the hardware. I use Onecnc for CAD/CAM $4,000 arrrgh but I'm pretty happy with it.

I'm not sure Joe, Thursday morning we hunted Ocean City a couple of hours then Sea Isle. Yes Bernie is a gold vacuum and very knowledgeable. I think he must have electronic gold locating implants. Thursday night he was telling Ben a particular stretch of beach wasn't worth hunting because they don't allow swimming there and as they were fast footing it to the next spot he got a gold ring anyway!

Plus now Beachcomber can flat cover some ground. Man the last time I came down he ran me ragged up and down Ocean City beach. I was wiped out for like two days afterward.

Have been out of commission most of the summer though with an injury, so all these finds from the 1700's were earlier......
Might get back to pingin in about a month.

I may just have to give the beaches a shot, those are some great finds. We are going to Aruba in 3 weeks and I was considering bringing the Minelab, but with all the baby stuff that needs to go, I don't think it's going to happen. How did the homemade coils perform? Were most of those finds with the Excal or the EXII?
