GoGoGopher

New member
I am dragging these back up, as Spring is fast approaching, and all those folks who got detectors for Christmas are gonna be coming in with questions...These might save them a lot of typing...
Enjoy, and we welcome new members with arms wide open...Come on in and get infected with the disease...lol

These pics are of my pin pointer taken apart so I could adjust the sensitivity to make it reach a bit farther...DO NOT take yours apart unless you know what your doing...

Hope this helped some of you,

I think the videos are very informative Gopher...I haven't seen to many Vids on how other people recover their targets..thanks for sharing them

Thanks so much for the videos. I find these to be very, very helpful, especially since I am new to this. Thanks again!!!

My Land Star has NEVER showed depth or target ID in ALL-Metals mode...I have heard some say theirs does...perhaps they have a machine with upgraded firmware or electronics, or maybe I have a defective unit...No Worry, as I do not use it anymore, and plan to send it back to the factory for a refit...It needs to be re-tuned at the least...It has been acting quite erratic....I sent it in once, but it did not come back any better than when I sent it in...I plan on selling it when I get it back...

HH,

Imite add The little trick GoGoGopher done with the light works very well, I have a little hereing problem, an can't here the buzzer very well,(an not at all when the wind is blowing , or autto traffic in the area) so I fixed my like gogogopher shows in the pictures, the light lights when you find the metal object, So Thanks gogo for that tip.

I wear mechanics gloves when I dig targets because they are suppose to be tough. Well about two weeks ago I was digging dirt out of a hole and cut the heck out of my index finger pretty good on what was a piece of aluminum that was sharp like a razer. I told a friend that metal detects once in a while about it and he said the same thing has happened to him also. He said he solved the problem by wearing a fillet glove he bought at Wal-mart under his gloves and now he doesn't worry about it anymore. They are thin and slip right in his winter gloves and in the summer you can wear them by themselves and your hands stay cool. His cloth gloves have cuts in them and not a scratch on his fingers thanks to the fillet gloves. I wish I would have known about it earlier, would have saved me some pain and suffering. I might try this, but I think I just need to be alittle more careful when digging in a hole. Just an idea you might want to know about.
Careful Hunting !!!

Thank you for those videos! This info will certainly help me out. My wife bought me a detector for Christmas in an attempt to get rid of me for a while. Hopefully she was right. I need an active hobby. :detecting:

Don't they know, that they are just giving us what we want??? More time outta the house and away from the honey-do list...LOL...I am glad that folks are finding these videos helpful...
Never heard of the Fillet gloves...gotta find those puppies!!!

Sorry I put the story of the fillet gloves on this topic, it should have been on the main subject page. Oh well I'm still learning. The training videos were great. good job!!

Thanks for the videos. As you stated earlier, I will be bringing my BH 505 Christmas present out with high hopes when spring hits. These were helpful tips. Great tip with the fillet glove. I have one but never considered using one for digging. Perfect for the job.
