My thoughts on the Anfibio Multi

Hello folks,
I am a Impact user from day one and also have a Multi Kruzer I've been using for about 6 months almost daily.
I always run my Impact in 14khz in VLX2 mode at a 89 to 94 gain and it's rather quiet.
I use the MMK now more frequently in 14khz 4 tone 94 gain it's allot sparky. I use it that way as I've kinda became used to it.
I had a chance to swing a Anfibio Multi Monday for 3 hours.
Without reading any setup instructions or recommendations I tuned into 4 tone, gained up to 94 ground balanced and started my hunt. Being a loyal Nokta/Makro user made the transition pretty easy.
I wanted to share my good and bad for anyone thinking about getting one and also looking for feedback/help from others so please reply with your experience.

The good:
I am 1000% satisfied with the straight shaft grip setup of the Anfibio! Huge huge win for Nokta/Makro on this. I immediately fell in love with this setup on the Impact. I can deal with the minimal extra weight It's an amazing trade off.

I like the fact of the built in battery and battery life of the Anfibio. Didn't use it long enough to kill it but I'm to assume it will be just as good as the MMK. Also the available extra Pod is a plus for those that need it I would be willing to try one but don't think I would use it regularly.

I am a fan of using the same control box for both the Kruzer and Anfibio series. Easier for finding dust covers and screen protectors. No need to have 6 different covers on retail shelves. Great job on that. Same with the plugs great job keeping them the same.

The ability to swap coils back n forth is also a huge plus for me. Most of the spare coils I purchased are for the Impact. 4 to be exact. Unfortunately the cord on the Impact coils aren't long enough for the MMK or Anfibio but with the custom shaft I created on the Impact I can use the Anfibio or MMK coils. I hope to add a concentric coil to my collection SOON!

The adjustable arm cuff is more help than one would imagine. I also feel leaving the foam off it this time doesn't hurt the comfort in any way. I was wearing a long sleeve hoodie as it's still cold here in VA but I don't see plastic on skin being an issue.

Not really a like or dislike but up until the MMK all my machines came with some sort of case. My Jeotech Led has a super nice case, My Impact pro pack has a super nice case and the Racer 2 had a cool coil bag/case. The only one I use daily is the Racer bag. I keep all my extra coils and shafts in it. The oblong shape is perfect for a coil attacched to a shaft.
I was told the Anfibio didn't come with a case. Honestly if it keeps the cost competitive it's probably a good idea. Both my Nokta and Makro pointers came with nice cases I don't even use those.

On a single trip I did notice the newly-designed coil is deeper then the stock coil on my MMK. I'm also anxious to try it at the beach this summer. I used the Impact once and found the coil in the water had more drag than expected. But it was definitely useable.

Most noteworthy dig in my Sandy soil was a flat button about the size of a quarter. It was 10" deep on a 20° angle. It clearly let me know it was down there! I'm excited to get out again with an Anfibio.

The VDI numbers are fairly similar with the MMK in 4 tone. I dug a few good targets in this 3 hours. It was a fairly new spot so I can't use the claim hunted out site. And I highly doubt other machines have been there.

I believe a IHP is a more stable VDI number on the Anfibio. It seems on the MMK they always jump around from 50s to 70s but sound like a IHP! If that makes sense. I also dug a 29 Mercury dime. The vdi on that was a solid 80 the Impact was always an 85 or 86. But again the tone definitely screams coin on these Nokta /Makro detectors.

Dislikes / possible user errors:
I used the blue wireless phones from my MMK he forgot to bring the green which may be the issue here.
I tried channel 3, 1,4 and 7. All with the same result. No channel worse or better than the other.
When setting the machine down to dig a target The headphones will randomly disconnect. This happens from a kneeling position within arms reach from the detector on every hole. I had one disconnect while swinging it. Weird I know! Maybe the antenna for the wireless is at the bottom of the control box?
I tried wearing the headphones either direction no change. I can walk about 30 feet away from my MMK before it disconnects.
Perhaps the green headphones design has some different hardware proprietary to the Anfibio.

While pinpointing a target everything goes well until the coil touches the ground. I like to rest the coil on the ground and work it back and forth to measure/ find targets. I feel putting the coil flat on the ground causes some kind of disconnect. Pinpointing goes silent and the screen shows - - . If I continue to hold the button down and raise the coil it stays silent. I have to release the PP button, find target again, then start over remembering not to rest the coil on the ground. Tilting the coil or moving the plug has no effect on the PP process. Perhaps this is something new with the Kruzer series. But coming from Impact and MMK I'm not a fan. I should be able to rub the coil on the ground while pin pointing.

I'm not a fan of the Nokta/Makro screen protector. The one I bought and received from the dealer basically was elastic sewn to a clear protector and fit snugly around the screen. I felt after time it would lose it's elasticity but lost it soon after I got it. Nicer covers that actually cover the back of the machine with zippers can be had for less money on various sites. Just my .02 I prefer that.

There isn't much I can say bad about the Anfibio Multi. I can't wait to take it out for a spin again. I definitely want one. However what I want more is to wait until the simultaneous frequency detector comes to the shelves. If the other coil winds can handle all those freqs and the same coil can be used on all 3 machine series would be epic!
My next purchase will probably be the concentric coil collection. Those are something I've been eyeing since the release for the Impacts! I need to stop the epic finds I'm finding with my current collection of coils first though!
Good luck to all and HH

Nice write up. Did your Makro Kruizer come with padding on the arm cuff? Mine did not. Also I wonder why people purchase a screen protector for a waterproof unit? I use an invisible shield on my MMK and Racer 2 screen. I can see a screen protector for the Racer 2 but why use one on a waterproof detector? I really hate 4 tone mode on the Kruzer. I want to like it but up here in the NY soil its super annoying. 2 tone on the Racer 2 is as much as I can handle.

My MMK did not come with padding on the armcuff. I don't believe any of them did. It was just an Impact thing and it actually wore down after lots of use.
I personally am very careful with my stuff. Some may laugh but I actually put a tablet screen protector over the screen also.
Once that screen gets scratched it's scratched. I'd rather it not.
4 tone is pretty annoying here in VA too. But the trade-off in depth is worth it to me. I dug in 3 tone the first 4 months of having the machine. Now I've gone back in 4vtone and slowed my swing and actually found ALOT more in the same areas.

I'm pretty impressed with the Anfibio Multi so far. Running in 3 tone, 94 gain, were the only settings I used and it ran smooth. Left every thing else at factory settings. The rosette looking piece was at a true 15" and sounded off good with a repeatable VDI. Dug through roots and rocks to get it. In front of a Confederate trench too! Bullets were at nominal depths. I leave the armstrap pressed down for padding too. Works for me.

Sweet rosette!
I had the opportunity to swing it again today for a few hours.
Yes! You aren't kidding about depth. I had a repeating 94 signal today. I dug and dug and dug. I put more effort into this hole than any other. I thought for sure I had me a long gun Barrell! Not so much! Haha
I've dug big iron before but NEVER this deep.
Once I got it out it just appeared to be a piece of pipe.
Did manage my first great sealbhutton today and a total of 9 wheat Penny's.

Definitely looks like you put a lot of effort into digging THAT target, and it would've left you wondering had you not dug it. Good to see the Anfibio finding the deep stuff! Congrats on the coins and button. What part of Va. are you in? Hanover Co. here.

I'm on the Eastern Shore
