My thoughts on the 10X12 SEF..

It's slightly heavier, but easy to manage. More stable, quieter....and the pinpointing is much better.

And it loves dimes.....I have found about 30 since I put it on. And I had to work my arse off for that one silver dime !

#22...I'll take it !

Very nice Dave:thumbup:

Two of those reasons you stated is exactly what I always try to explain to people.

It's more stable and it's quieter....therefor it opens new doors to being able to better hear and discern deep silver hits from iron falses.

Dave, that coil is next on my list. Love the 8x6 sef that I have. I think you just sealed the deal for me. Thanks, good luck on your hunts, Joe.

Just thought i would add my two pence worth lol
My name is Paul and i live in Wales in the southern U.K.
I have been using the S.E.F. 15 x 12" coil since they were brought out on my trusty ol explorer II
And i have never used the stock coil since...
Its superb on both inland and wet sand beach sites...runs very quiet and stable so i can run sens. at almost max. in all areas.
I have pulled finds out at extreme depths and pinpointing is a dawdle...i must admit that the minelab pro coil which is far superior to the older standard coil
is almost as good but you get more ground coverage and a bit extra depth with the SEF .
Good luck and H.H. ......PaulB.

Never considered raising the sensitivity (mine is always at 26) with the new coil. Might be fun to try it and see if there are any differences.
