My thoughts on Tesoro's way/new model

Reading the forum got me thinking especially after reading all the comments on the Cazador. I am 53 years old (or young) was a dairy farmer all my life, have alot of good times and memories about farming, back when my Dad was alive (he passed in 1985) farming was good, my Dad,Mom, brother & I done all the work. We got along great, had money to buy new machinery when if needed & even could put alittle money away for a rainy day. When my Dad passed on my Mother & I ran the farm for 3 years, my brother took a job away from the farm. Mom and I done great don't know how we did it alone when I think back but we we much younger then, after 3 years my brother got fed up working out and came and joined us on the farm, adain things went well the work load was cut as he was there to help. 2 years ago the price of milk went down and it got to where we were working at a loss, we couldn't even afford to buy parts for our now wore out equiptment. Ddidn't want to do it but we sold our cows and land. Now at 53 years old when most of my friends have or are retiring I just started my first other than farming job. I work at a factory where I punch a clock, work from 7:00am-3:30pm 5 days/week at $8.00/hour. Whats all this blah blah blah have to do with detecting, well as I see it life is short, money isn't everything, what Tesoro new detector (Cazador) and further future detectors will be, what features they have, what they will cost, when they will be released, etc. is something that we shouldn't get all worked up over. There is good in everything, a time and place for everything,.......etc. What one person might not like another will love, and vice versa, no matter how good of a coin machine is made a water hunter won't be happy, no matter how good of a water detector they make it won't be worth a hoot to a dirt hunter. No matter how hard one tries you can't make everyone happy. Maybe Tesoro could of done things a bit differently, but lets look on the good side, be happy that they are making (whatever it will be like) a new detector for us, who knows maybe it will be more than one or if not maybe another one down the road soon. People at the factory that work with me think that I am crazy for being so happy and liking my job where we only make $8.00/hour, but they have no idea how nice it is to only work 5 days a week and be done at the end of the day and have absolutely no stress. So Tesoro will have the Cazador realeased when it and they are ready, it will be good at what it is meant to do, so we need not worry, get in a hurry, enjoy what we have, enjoy life and not get stressed over Tesoro's way of doing things, and most of all don't let stress of any kind get to you it is very unhealthy.

No matter how many times I re-read my post, it doesn't come out on paper how it sounds in my head about how all my rambling on has to do with the future new Tesoro detector/detectors, just hoping that some of you know what I am trying to say.

Steve, very well put! I can feel exactly what you are saying. Better to be poor and happy, than rich and stressed. I fall into the first category. It's not always about money folks. Very little stress in my life because of accepting things the way they are.
I know you posted this in the Tesoro forum, but I can see it being moved to the views forum. Mostly because it a spectacular view on how we all should be thinking :)

Excellent post! We all like to see new detectors, regardless of what brand they/it may be. Like you are alluding to, though, most importantly is to be having fun with what we currently are swinging and then to learn it as well as we can. Again, good post. HH jim tn

I know what you're trying to say. When I posted the other day about the time it's taking to get the Cazador out, it wasn't because I'm unhappy with the Tesoros I have, nor am I in a hurry to buy a new one. It just crossed my mind from the business standpoint that in order to create interest and sell, they should get it on the market while the timing is still good.

Glad to hear that some of you know what I am trying to say, I am not the best with words or putting my thoughts feelings opinions into words. I wanted to edit where I said 2 years ago the price of milk went down and it got to where we were working at a loss, we couldn't even afford to buy parts for our now wore out equiptment but couldn't edit it, I meant to say 2 years ago the price of milk went down and it got to where we were making alot a loss, we couldn't even afford to buy parts for our now wore out equiptment or make enough to cover our bills.

I am as itchy to see what the new detector will be like as the rest of you believe me.

Steve we all are My friend . its just some are itcher than others :tesoro: me I am  about my new used Tejon !Oh and great post by the way

Steve,

First off, thanks for that great post. It is always better not to become too hyper-focused on the small stuff.

But honestly, for me at least, the issue is not when they are going to release it. They'll do that when its ready.

All I want is just some basic information about the machine. What frequency will it operate at? Is it going to have multiple tones? Is it going to have a notching feature?

At this point, Tesoro ought to be able to answer these basic questions, regardless of when the detector gets released.

The reason I want to know is that I am in the market for a new detector (and have been for some time) and I don't plan on buying another one for a long time.

I have held off, hoping to get more information about the Cazador, but it doesn't seem to be coming.

Now, Tesoro certainly does not need to accomodate me, but all this waiting with absolutely no information just doesn't seem to make any sense.

I mean, honestly guys, why the big tease?

Sorry, not trying to re-open the can of worms again, but this whole thing just seems to be getting silly.

I don't know, maybe its just me.

 Great post ! It was so positive that I doubt very strongly that it offended any of the sensitives on here. Let's all keep it positive, up beat, and encouraging. :cheekkiss:

this is better than people getting all pissy over it. i'm not looking for a new one now anyway. my vaquero works fine. but, even if i was and liked what the cazador has. i would still wait a year before buyng a brand new line. just to get some reviews about it. the likes, dislikes and so forth. i lean towards the tried and tested things. the next detector i will be buying is either the compadre or silver max for my gal anyhow. i have said that , i think tesoro could have got a little further along with it before the whole naming thing came out. but, it is what it is. moaning about is not going to get nobody one any faster.

@SkiWhiz,a quality honest post,i do own 2 Tesoro machine and yes i am pleased with what they do,will i be buying the new model when it finally arrives my answer is 100% NO,i wont give a reason why.Of course i wish them luck and also the folks that plan on buying them but its just not for me.

Its a shame but nearly every month you get another thread on the same old Tesoro topic just repackaged, not even any form of a update from the company and as i dont have my crystal ball at hand at the moment even i am finding it hard on any updates, the old saying that no news is good news cannot be applied to this scenario.I see it more as a PR blunder myself, but of course these are just my personal thoughts and nothing else.

their is a reason why they had 12 kids in the farm days , its a lot of work , I can see why you enjoy the factory Job taking care of animals can be 24- 7 and you can't just go when and where you want enjoy that Job and the off time with your new CAzz

SkiWhiz, great post, and you have put things in perspective very well.....and there is nothing wrong with being comfortably poor....as for new detectors...they get released (or escape), then they're not new anymore.:)
