So I went to a site today along an old parkway that I last hit some 20 years ago. Coins were few and far between but my hunting partner got 2 Mercs (he also has the CTX) but I won the prize for today (sorry John). While walking along I received a strange signal. It started with a 16-49, then went to a few 30s-46, then a couple of 20s-40s, then as I was scanning away from the target it was 14-46 a few times. The depth was 7" and it pinpointed rather well. I was hesitant about digging it because in some areas where we were detecting there was an older road about 6" underneath us. So sometimes the old cinder was giving off readings that mimiced coins. I was hunting in manual 25, and with a clear screen. After digging down about 6" the pinpointer showed the target was still there and then a Lesche scoop later...out pops a very nice SLQ 1925. So far in 2 weeks time with the CTX, 31 silver coins.
