You know, I can't help but be appreciative of a professional model metal detector, and the T2 is pro level all the way.
The adjustable pinpoint sensitivity is really a great feature and I'm glad FT went ahead with it. I ran it down as far as 1 and up as high as 99 and it performed well at both ends of the spectrum. Small, tight and narrow at one end and broad and deep at the other, with lots of play room in the middle. I like it
The dP mode fits nicely, and the tones are easy on the ear. Nice and sharp for the shallower targets progressing to soft and a little buzzy on the deeper ones. Hard to describe, but its a pleasant sound. I like it
I'm reminded again of the thought that was put into this machine when FT decided that they wanted a pro-level machine:
Separate and independent gain control for the motion all metal mode, the motion Discriminate mode, and now the non-motion all metal Pinpoint mode.
Selectable signal processing in the Discriminate mode; continuous processing vs sampled processing
Ferrous measurement and readout of the ground signal
User selectable tone id modes matched to signal processing types
Independent audio and visual signal response
Visual signal strength indicators
Preset, Auto, and Manual ground balance
Fast response/resets
There is more, but these are the primary. It takes a bit to learn how to use these things to your advantage, because they really are head and shoulders above what you may be acustomed to. The user interface is so simple that you overlook the options available to bring to bear on any particular site to help pull difficult targets out.
I still have a T2 because a T2 has it.
I'm looking forward to hunting with it this Sunday
