My stock v3 coil died after only a few field trips

I finally found a 'honey hole' where I was getting older coins like a 1903 v nickel, 1925 & 1938 penny, 1939 nickel in about ten minutes and I was so excited....then my detector went haywire....I tried everything...rebooting, resetting and changing programs etc. but loud buzz &/or falses all over the place and just wouldn't work. Even with sens down to 1 or 2. I went home and put on another coil and it was working fine. I'll have to call white's.....will they insist I send the detector too or do you think I can just send the bad coil (d2 10")?

Was the coil kept in a hot place? That's what seemed to kill my Super 12. Inside is a mass of hot glue, yes hot glue, holding everything together....

That must have been a bummer! If your dealer isn't able to, Whites sends that kind of replacement out real quick. Only send back the bad coil.
