Went out yesterday for a couple hour's, it's been a few weeks since I've been out and it sure felt good to get out again even though the humidity and heat were pretty bad. I chose the boulevards in front of the old hospital where I was born a long time ago. It's no longer a hospital and the building itself may be from the 30's or 40's. Not to old but the houses in the neighborhood are mostly pretty old so I gave it a shot. My first good target read 177-178 on the meter with a pretty good tone. I had my sensitivity set at the 2:00 position and the tone I got was a long smooth tone. For the fun of it I turned the sens. to minimum and the target disappeared but when I increased it to around to the 12:00 spot, it came back but was choppy. I dropped it back to 2:00 but ended up settling for the 3:00 position, this gave the smoothest and most clear response. Enough playing around,I pinpointed and dug a small plug. When I stuck the probe in the bottom it vibrated pretty fast and so I knew it wasn't very deep. I scraped a little dirt away and saw the 1898 Indian head in the bottom. Not a bad way to start. Moving up and down the grass I found a couple of wheat's. When I reached the end of the grass strip I got the real nice high tone with a 180 on the meter the perfect target. I knew it was going to be silver and sure enough a nice 39 Merc. was looking up at me,also not too deep. I got one more wheat and few pieces of junk. There's still plenty of boulevard left so I will be going back sometime soon. Not a bad hunt for a couple of hour's
Good hunting,Gary
