Here are the finds from an old picnic area that my mom and dad used to take my sister and I when we were little. A river to swim in, some woods and a creek. These finds were collected in the woods and along a creek trail.

These coins were just sitting on top of the dirt? Perhaps left over when a flood washed away the top soil.

An old gold/silver signet ring was found a couple of inches below the surface. JC are the initials, the same as my brotherinlaw where I stayed at during my holiday. What are the chances of that?

And one more piece of jewelery that I am not sure of? A tie clip perhaps?, pocket watch holder? Anyone have any ideas?

Hey John, you have mastered so many Garrett detectors, what is your favorite and do you still use any from the past i.e. 1500/1350?

I mostly use the AT Series for land and the ATX for water, but my old time favorites are the GTI 2500, the ACE 250 and the Scorpion. I have given away the GTI 1500 and GTP 1350 to a couple of people wanting to get into the hobby.

The what's it looks like it would be slipped over one's belt and the missing chain would go to a pocket watch as you suggested or to a set of keys. I have a similar object that is attached to a key chain, but it is stainless steel, not silver and is more modern than yours.
