My Second Barber Half in 3 months!

I know you folks have seen these type coins before, but am posting a pic as to my good luck. A couple weeks ago on a private yard with permission, using my F75ltd, I get a very large signal. A lock on a 91, and bounce to 93, with all confidence bars lit. I pretty much knew right away I had something good, and three inches deep I find the 1912 D Barber Half, my second. What was interesting was that I just found my first Barber Half three months ago (1908 S) at a park. Really Lady Luck was with me. I had hunted this place several days last fall with the F70. It was quite a cluttered place and I dont fault the F70. I was ignoring larger signals like that after having found beer cans and such at that end of the yard. I think the F70 hit on it and I wasnt listening. Also the fact that I had previously found a barber half with the F75ltd and never forgot its (the machines ) reaction put me on immediate alert. I will say I pulled out another 8 wheat backs , and an Indian Head, and some jewelry (not high end) that I apparently missed or ignored with the F70. (I still have an update for you on the "creekside park" in the near future.) The leaves are just starting to drop, I want to get out there before they get wet, but we do need the rain up here. Thanks for lookin, CO

Sweet find great hunting

Very nice coins......good luck....hh.....Dan

Amazing find.
Thanks for the story too.
:detecting:

Nice finds!!! Where are you that the leaves are beginning to drop? It's still a sauna here in TX, especially, northeast TX where we have "air you can wear!"

Really nice finds, thanks for sharing. Which coil were you using? Were you in BP? Disc?

Thanks again,

J

jbow, it was the 11" DD and in BP, but again the coin was only like 3 inches deep so I think any machine probably would of nailed it. The difference was I had found one before and thought from the way the LTD was behaving, that it was probably onto another one, and hence made sure to check it out. Thanks, CO

Any halves are relatively rare finds, and two old Barbers in two weeks is really sweet...congrats!

Like they say, It's never hunted out. I'm amazed what I find when I rework an area at a 90 degree offset to the first passes.
