My Se Pro says Dig up my yard

Just got it yesterday and set it out in the back yard on a box and set it for preset and waved everything I could think of and wrote down the numbers.
I guess High ferrous means forget it but low ferrous and high conductivity means dig.
had some 31-31 and well as 05- 27 00-15 etc etc. I didn't dig anything until I am sure I know what I am doing. Pinpointing isn't that easy when you are in a target rich environment.
I must have at least 30 to 40 hits in the backyard and probably most are going to be iron. this is going to be a long slow process

STAY IN THE SMARTFIND SCREEN...AND STAY OUT OF THE DIGITAL SCREEN:)

To do this: When you hit the power button to turn on the SE...hold it down for a few seconds before releasing it. That will put you in the factory presets and the smartfind screen.

ok I will try that tomorrow-smartfind only
thanks Bryce

Listen to Bryce, I am a new to SE Pro also and I followed his advice. It worked out well for me and I am starting to learn the my machine. What I have noticed is that the digital screen is useless on deep targets. Deep copper and silver coins will stay in the upper right hand corner of the smartfind screen.

I felt it might be confusing for you at this early stage of trying to learn your machine.
I don't even want to begin to explain to you as to why or how I felt that way...but as forum moderator it was a decision I made.

Keep it basic and simple for now...period.

Take care when using pinpoint mode.
When in smart find I get a good dig signal but when I go into pinpoint the signal goes into the top left hand corner of the screen and a reading of 31-31 on the other screen but after digging an item that contains no iron I checked the hole and got no readings at all.
So before realizing this I must have missed lots of good targets.
Hope this is of help.

This weekend I am blocking the screen altogether and just hunting purely by sound. I call it "Jedi Mode" ... not recommended for beginners ..

I'm a million miles away jedi mode but have been pretty lucky on my first four digs and two were coins-so I think this is going to be a long relationship.

Hey Jan
thanks-I have already seen that and was wondering what the heck is going on.
I get a good smart find signal and when I go to pinpoint it out it changes to 31-31 or moves into the ferrous side.
Next time I will dig.

David=thanks
