My regular beach is So Bad....How bad is it?.....
That I had to travel to florida to find Gold !!!
Went down to Papa Joes neck of the woods for vacation and spent a few days at Cocoa Beach, the hotel was right on the beach. It even had an Ocean view! Wow!!

The water was just barely warm enough to MD in. So, Wednesday and Thurday I spent quite a bit of time in the water.
As you can see I dug alot of targets Wed and Thurs but had very limited success in finding Gold.
Needless to say I was pretty "bummed out"

I did find one piece of gold, some guy "coach blah blah blah" lost his wedding band while horsing around and one of his football students asked me to help, two minutes later he was reunited with his white gold wedding band. Unfortunately this was the only gold I found Wed and Thurs.
We were leaving Friday morning so I decided to do some dry sanding before we left, for whatever reason I woke up at 5:00am. I'm not a morning person and I normally don't wake up on my own. It usually takes a freight train to wake me up out of a warm bed. Unable to go back to sleep, I decided to get an early start at dry sanding "YUCK" I hate dry sanding JUNK JUNK JUNK Everywhere!!
I was hopeful, because there was a huge crowd at Cocoa for the Ron Jon's 50th Anniv "something or other" and a 45th Surf Annual "something or other blah blah blah" Lot's of depositors - thats all I cared about!
Anyway, back to the story, So here I am dragging my scoop behind me in the dry sand walking out onto the beach, totally discouraged. As I walk down to the waters edge I look down the beach and to my amazement I see a deep cut running all the way down the beach as far as I can see. Which wasn't far, Hey it was Freaking 5:00 in the Morning!!

After seeing the nice cut, I say "the Heck with this stupid dry sand" !!
After walking a little I start getting signals, not too often but often enough; and the stuff I was getting was old and crusty.
"Yes", I say to myself. Because who else would I say it to, there was no one else on the beach, because it was Freaking 5:00am in the morning.
Anyway, back to the story, a few crusty quarters later I get a signal, nothing special sounds like a crusty penny to me. I check to make sure the signals is in the scoop and dump the contents on the ground and give it a good kick. X the target to make sure of where it's at, because I can't see a thing, because....you guessed it.. it's Freaking 5:00 in the morning. I reach down to grab up the coin and a strange thing happened...my finger went right through the coin!
Wait a second, that aint no coin. That's a ring. I quickly turn on my headlamp. That's not just a ring, that's a gold ring!! "Yes", I say to myself. Because....Well, you know why!

The ring is 14k and weighs 7.4grams - Not Bad!
