My problem was solved by Minelab

This note was sent to Minelab in regard to problems I had with my Excalibur 2

Dear Mr Schafer
From the first phone call to Minelab to the final conversation with Mr Kozel, I was treated with interest to solve my problem . Return phone calls were prompt and courteous. There was a noticeable underlining urgency to help me in this time of frustration and disappointment .

Mr Kozel was wonderful . He listened to my problem and without a seconds hesitation, he solved my dilemma. Needless to say I was very happy. This gentleman is an asset to your Minelab organization .

Kathy Warren also displayed a great interest. She chatted briefly with me and had good communication skills . She directed me to another person

This was the same take I had with my conversatioons with Minelab. Dito on the phone calls and the friendlyness of each person I spoke with made me feel confortable my machine would be repired in the time frame they said it would be
.steve

I too must agree that this time around things are a bit different.. and for the better..

the Communication line is once again open..

Hopefully, my problems will be solved for once and for all.. and I can move along and into the surf with my machine. Problem free.

.glad your problem was solved in a timely manner.. especially after waiting so long for delivery... it is a.tuff time of year to go without a good machine... what exactly was the problem and how did they solve it,, happy huntin to ya,,

I'll say it again and again. We just don't know who's posting any of these post. It's hard to believe that a Minelab Excalibur detector can come back from repair and have no head set! That would just be insane to believe. There are other post of this same type complaint.
If anyone here ever looked in side there machine you would know it wasn't able to ever go back together the way some have said they got it back from repair.
Just remember one of the first things you read when you registered on this site was. No one is to ever second guess, accuse anyone of what they said they found of not being true? What that means is everything here it true!
Ya I believe that!

Now that would be a little strange... sending in your excal and having it come back "Without" headphones.... Hmmm.. I'd wonder about that too myself...

NOW,

When my machine came back from being serviced.. One of my issues was the headphones being stripped out where you Cannot adjust them> and I had to use a Hot glue gun to set them
in place...

When I got it back...

They "Minelab" changed all the Innards to the Headphones... and the Changed the Cable to the headphones... But NEVER Replaced the External portion..

They also changed my Threshold knob so that I can use it as my Volume control ....

and my Volume control is now my Threshold control..

Buried Crap NJ: can you post these postings of the complaints that you question..

I'd like to read some more..

Maybe you have the Answers that we need "Buried Crap"

He's a look at my past service orders... Why Did I have to send it back into Minelab..again..

Not that I feel as if I need to prove anything... But, the proof is in the papers.... and well.. I should have another service report soon.

Buried Crap is right right you have to look at everything with a critical eye. The reason I posted "heads up" was to do exactly that ,be aware that Minelab was having problems probably due to relocation . The other reason is ,if I can be of assistance to anyone on this forum in any capacity, it would be my pleasure. I have never met a nicer group of people. Being a beginner Im sure I have asked some ridiculous questions . I have received nothing but polite and courteous answers.
Why would I waste my time posting information that is not true ?

I was not pointing fingers at anyone. i would hope what we read here comes from hobbyist. You can't be sure! I have read post that say Minelab service sucks White's is much better I send them a 15 yr old detector the fixed it for free and it took a week. While I have had dealing with many of companies some good some bad. I have learned not to believe everything you read.My postings come from my dealings with Minelab this the first time and up to this date everything has been great.

Mine has been sitting somewhere ( I sent it to Vegas) and was received 7/2/10 THE BOX HAS YET TO BE OPENED A/O 08/21/10

That is not good to hear. Mine when in after yours. I wonder if they look at them in the order received?Or do they fix small things first and major repairs as they get them done. Seems to me if you have a cut wire and you can fix it in an hour why wouldn't do them at 8/10 a day. keeps the customer happy. Then when you open the box that's been run over by the car you work on it in the major repair section.
When I spoke to Minelab last week they told me mine would be done in the six week time frame??????? Time will tell. Mine was a warranty.

Told me the same thing...Now how are U going to determine a small repair from a large one if U DON'T OPEN THE F________n BOX?!?! Order received WHERE? Vegas, Chicago, China ????

I hear ya. I sent mine to Chicago, I talked with a tech prior to sending it in. I will assume they log the info into a computer and that way they know what's coming down the repair line.

It's all good.. It kinda was sounding that way..

But, the sure frustration of this whole thing could skewed my thoughts some...

it just a Big mess.. I'm sure glad that I have another machine to hunt with.. Otherwise this would have "Ruined" and entire summer's hunt... For some, That's the only time they get to hunt..

An almost 50 year hobbyist and Minelab sevice SUCKS

erikk: If I ever have a problem I'm e-mailing you first. With all those water machines you would be more of an authority about problems than most. HH :minelab::garrett::tesoro:

Spoke with Kathy Warren today she couldn't give me a clue as to when my machine would be looked at. Its been there just shy of 7 weeks. Mr Kozel hasn't returned my calls since the first. Piss poor service. Filed consumer complaints today with several agencies.
I have been so happy with the BS they gave for 6 weeks. I'm done playing.

Hope that hookrail is well secured erikk, a lot of money there hanging on a couple of screws, especially the way the service time is going, we don't want to give minelab service any more un-necesarry work:detecting:
