My Pipe Collection From The Past 20 Years :smoke:

I laugh evry time I pull one of these from a park or water. My buddy, a retired police officer told me about the many times he was patrolling beaches and parks, when he detected the smell of weed. As he approached the smokers, they would toss their pipes out in the water or bushes as far as they could. And of course, I found some of these.

I also once dug a signal under a tree, and out came a bag of white powder, and a digital scale of which my GTI 1500 picked up. I kept the scale, but reburied the powder....Often wonder what the druggy thought about, after retrieving his stash with the missing scale. Probably got a little paranoid, thinking someone was watching him. Too funny!

Good collection of pipes, it's funny you posted that , I was reluctant to post that I found a crack pipe out of plumbing parts, things people do this days to get there fix!

Nice find John, what is it with parks and drug users?

I had about 15 minutes free time while waiting for my wife on Friday she was on a personnel development day so I hit he tot-lot in the small park next to the conference hall I found 10c a lot of little aluminium cones (?) and a bong, then I realised what the cones were for. The Zillmere, Boondall Bogans frequent the park so it seems. While I was swinging the MD I noticed that some of the locals were quiet intent to see what I was doing, one standing in the window with binoculars watching me. Anyhow after I picked up my wife I told her that I found a new park to detect in and we drove past the park only 3-4 minutes later and there were two cars in the car park with some grubs having a look under the playground equipment, I bet they thought I stole their stash!

It was unnerving but funny in a way as they turned up quicker than the rangers or the police! I will have to go back to the park again as there are a couple of places that interest me, old chairs and ring flings that I would like to spend more time on. However even with bug spray, the mossies being somewhat fierce, it is not a park I would work after dark, not without backup or without something like a Gerber Gator

It looks more like a tool ('its for clearing the brush officer, honest') than a weapon and 'intent' has to be proved! Also it is approved for the safe and humane dispatch of Zombies, note the As seen on Walking Dead in the add.

Fingers crossed I hit the beach tomorrow and find some hobby money.

In Mr. Garrett's video about searching sand and surf there is a pipe made to look like a seashell. Just turn it over one way and it looks like an innocent sea shell. Turn it the other way and smoke whatever they had to smoke. Why people go to public beaches and commit illegal acts are beyond me. If I was going to smoke, I wouldn't do it in public.
Has anyone ever found one of those Sherlock Holmes pipes? I think they are called Meerschaum pipes, but I'm not sure. Nice collection, John. Nice find on the scale, also. I hope you didn't put your fingerprints on that bag of white powder?
