My pinpointer is on Life Support

formon

This is a result of hours of hunting and now it has dies on me. I had it less than a year. Has your pinpointer ever died like this one?

The one I gave my hunting buddy looks similar. Only he added a chunk of PVC with the duct tape! Get a Pro-Pointer! You won't be sorry.

before it could be trouble..came as part of a package deal - kept the detector and sold the pinpointer. I had one called a Merlin (which I guess they don't make any more) that lasted for years.
With the new detector (ACE 350) I got a brand new pinpointer - they were out of Garrett Pro Pointers - so now have a Whites Bullseye II Pinpointer.

Never cared for the looks of that one you have.

Not yet... But I have the same one... An automax that I got either free, or dirt
cheap when I bought the 250.. But I baby it, and so far.. No mayhem.. I can tell it's
fairly fragile just by looking at the plastic. You might be able to fix it.. I'm so cheap, I
would probably try.. Could just be a broke wire from the coil, etc..
But you may end up having to retire it.
I actually like my automax.. Most rag on em, but I've never had a lick of trouble with mine,
and I actually like it being manual sensitivity. I always use just the vibrator.. No tone.
It may not be as far reaching as the propointer, but it really doesn't need to go too far
to do the job.
Mine is about 7 years old now I guess.. Still cranking along..

That Pinpointer is a light weight kind of "cheapo" item. I also got one on a package deal. If you have the $$ get a Garrett Pro Pointer, you'll love it. Be careful not to submerge it up to the speaker holes, or you'll drown it.
