My piddling amount from yesterday evening...

minus about ten pennies. Hit a local park for a couple of hours, that usually doesn't give up much, with the 250+12-incher and just wandered around in a random hunt.

I'm new to the board, Uncle Willy, but I saw you were using the 250 with the 12" coil. I have the 250 and all three coils. I've been using the 12" quite a bit this week and I am amazed at the depth with it! Since I've only been detecting for a year, I sometimes wonder what I'm missing by using the 250 compared to a more expensive machine...but seeing someone as experienced as you using the 250 makes feel very confident in my choice of machines...

Just wanted to say hi

You made the perfect choice. Stick with that 250 as it will find as much as those expensive "Golly Gee Whiz" machines. I have a closet full of expensive machines and they are all collecting dust.

A host of other oldtimers have parked their big dollar machines in favor of the 250. It's not only a terrific machine but a whole lot of fun to use. You should do well with the combination of the 250 and all the coils. You are loaded for bear.:) Keep us posted on your success and post some pics.
