Here is a pic of me I finnally got somebody today. Not nice to look at.

I know I sure ain't very pretty and after what I've been through I don't have much to smile about.

From the land of the Bluenose....always a bright side me son! The Lord loves all his living things. Be neat to see how and if you detect. Hear there is a few "hotwheels" detectorists around.

Mike,I hope I am not prying in on you or your ways.
Do you ever read the Bible ?
Try it ! It helps !!

If you don't have one, email me your address and I will send you a CD of the old & new testament, it is a great program, and it no charge!

Hope I am not interfering. regards Bernie

Heck, I know lots of people that are uglier than you
are... Probably me included... I'm pretty dang ugly. :yikes:
Are you the one that was trying to find a way to mount a detector
on the wheel chair? Was about a month ago I guess...
Heck, looks like you could handle it to me, once you get the
machine strapped down to where you can use it. Maybe on your
right side, strapped to the chair handle , or sumtin...
Anyway, hope you can get something rigged up and get out and
try a little detecting. Would be good just to get out of
the house I bet. Good Luck, and if you need any ideas, give a
holler. Bunch of good 'tecter heads around here.

The detector is not an issue. I have full use of my left arm and left leg, I can swing it for a couple hours. The biggest problem that I am working is how to carry digger, pinponter, reacher and detector on the chair.

There is a thing on the chair where the Legs attach. I can not use the legs in the house because they stick out to far to get around the corners. Any way I found these metal strips that holds brooms and mops to a wall. Take some 1/2" pvc pipe make a 90 degree bend in it, stick one end in the leg mount and attach to other end some how, and mount the broom holders to it and I could then carry everything. I have not figured everything out yet but that is the idea I'm working on unless you have something better.

I have already made a digger that works pretty good. Have to figure out something I could put around my neck that I can put all the trash and treasures in but I have not gotten that far yet. I have found a zinc penny, lots of trash and a gold body piercing post. The post was laying on the ground and I just spied that. Some body part must of been hurting. It looked like it was pulled of the body.

Keep plugging bud. You'll get it all figured out. My wife used to be my constant hunting partner, now she is quadriplegic and stuck in a power chair - and does she miss detecting.

Kinda hard to tell about the PVC mount. But they do
sell "90's", 4 way cross pieces, etc. Home depot has
a lot of that stuff. You could drill holes on the PVC
ends to attach the broom holder maybe. Another possible
idea is a leather pouch like carpenters, electricians,
etc use. They have slots and pockets for different tools,
and maybe you could rig one of those up as a tool pouch.
It would be fairly easy to strap the leather belt to the
arm of the chair I think. They also sell the cheap carpenter
aprons I think, that strap on kind of like a apron, and
have a pouch for nails, etc. Those would make a good trash
pouch. Maybe goodie pouch too, if the pockets are divided.
I've been meaning to look for one of those myself.
Like the leather pouch, the cloth nail apron could be
tied to one of the arms. Or you could even wear it I
suppose.
Sounds like you are getting it together, if you have already
found some stuff. That piercing stuff is not for me...
I don't see how all these gals poke holes in their tongues..
Seems like a good way to get it infected to me.. You'd have
to shoot me to get any holes in this body... Well, other than
the natural ones...

I know about the carpenters aprins. The trouble I found with them is wth only 1 hand it is dang near impossible to tie them. But you did make me think. Some of the cloth ones have the small grommets in the corners. I could use shower curtain rings to attach it the chair. I will have to look into that. Thanks. Trying to come up with things that work is hard to do. When you are disabled you have to take ordinary stuff and change it to do something else.

How about using one of those fanny packs with the plastic clips that lock the straps together. You should be able to clip it, and unclip it with one hand I think. you might even be able to stretch it across the arms of your chair instead of around your waist. Just a thought. Hope you get it all figured out so you can get out and hunt! :detecting:

Thanks! I never would of thought of one but then I have never used one. I will take a kook at them next visit to the store.

You can shape the holder anyway you need to to accommedate your specific needs. Cut elbows T's anyway you need to to make items work best for you!
I use a PVC "T" with top cut off to snap into place it's very stable on my mounts. I know you could work out something for the chair to hold all your equipment!

Here's some pics for ideas for LED Light mounts, and A detector stand that you can make to reach at any heights. I'd be glad to help you design something if I knew more about your specific needs.

Hope this helps with some ideas.... Ted

These detectors heights can be adjusted where you could reach them from the chair easily. Also the stand could be changed to help you balance the detector while swinging from the chair also. It would relieve some of the weight of the detector also!
Hope to see you out there Lowrider!

I have been looking for those type of clamps. I never thought of just making one of pvc. I also need a stand like that because I have to lay the detector on the ground when digging. The detector is a little hard to pick up again from the ground. Thanks for sharing!!!!!!!!! I can use that type of clamp to mount the digger on the chair too instead of what I have came up with.

Another guy sugested a fanny pack to hang on the chair but I have been thinking. I might be able to put it around my waist turn the fanny pack around so the fanny pack is in front and I will then have a pocket for everyday and one to use detecting. I have never thought of fanny packs because I have never used one.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Mike
