My pathetic little pile plus a ring and a car..

Went out for a short spell this evening and rounded this mess up. The ring has no stone and is gold plated silver. Don't remember finding any like that. It has three letters inside the band ( that I can't make out ) and the number 925. I can see where the gold has worn off in spots.

Great find the silver ring with gold plating, I have found two in 40+ years. I also have a 1942 mercury dime thats gold plated, reckon the were a keep sake worthy of gold plating.
 
Yeah I've got a gold plated nickel and a Kennedy half but I don't see many gold plated silver rings. What's the purpose?
