My other hobby...

REVIER

Well-known member
Since I took up metal detecting I really haven't picked up any of my cameras too much, but at one time I sure did like to take pictures...lots of them!
Now that I live in an area of the country where it gets cold, maybe I will have a little time to take a few winter scene pics over the next few months.

Here are some of my favorites from the past few years, as you might notice I really enjoy taking pictures with water in the scenes, but any shot that is interesting is fair game.

These are some nice pictures, especially liked the aircraft picture. Thanks for sharing with us! Kelley (Texas) :)

Pics #'s 1, 2 and 3 were in Clearwater Beach, Fla, the blue water scene is the view from a friends home that is on Lake St. Clair in Michigan, the mountain shot was taken while I was just driving around the Las Vegas area, and the plane was captured at an air show in Birmingham Al.
Thanks all!

A couple more...

There is a building in San Antonio that is very similar. Also, I loved the water scene picture, so peaceful looking. The happy dog picture was great too! Thanks for sharing. :clapping: Kelley (Texas) :)

This was just a modern office bldg. I used to drive by all the time in a suburb of Birmingham.
I like to take pictures of interesting structures and I always thought this was a cool looking one.

Here is another neat pic of a part of Tampa General Hospital on Davis island in Tampa.
The building on the right was the older and original section, years later they built a whole new wing on the left side.
Those windows on the older section used to have a nice view of Tampa Bay, now they look right into a brick wall.
Thought that was pretty cool.

The picture of the very old wall in downtown Birmingham also looked very interesting to me.
The old brick showing through the newer but still very old attempt at resurfacing was a nice mixture of different textures, I thought.
My friends tell me I have a good eye and as I walk around I seem to see great picture opportunities like these everywhere I go.

I used to carry an older Canon pocket camera around to catch these little glimpses of the world around us.
I have a Nikon DSLR that I love but it is too big to haul around everywhere I go, but I also now have a very nice 12mp Panasonic Lumix Z56 that will easily fit in a pocket. and takes great pictures.
Guess it's time to start doing that a little more.

is very sharp with good coloring. It is amazing what these new cameras can produce. Thanks for posting these interesting pictures. I love to take pictures of old, historical buildings and sites, but now I think I will try to add pictures of unique newer buildings. Kelley (Texas) :)

That are right in front our two Eyeballs! I use a Sony Cyber shot 18.2 mega pixels, panoramic, 20 zoom, That I never leave home without it. I also carry a spare memory disk in my wallet. I download all my photos often, but do not delete the disks. I have about three dozen, numbered and a small file kept by number of description. Most likely there are more than ten to fifteen thousand photos stored in my computer.
I also use a Olympus Stylus Tough , waterproof unit occasionally, specially if I am in a boat, or if it wet weather.
Purchased a Sony Ax300 DSLR - A300K about two years ago, and never used it. Too big, heavy. I own a few tripods, but don't have time for them. Most of pictures are impulse not planned shots.
Enjoy shooting anything interesting, especially around the waterfront's, with different skies.
RJ

Most of the lens that I use are older, vintage Minolta Lens from the mid 1980's. Kelley (Texas) :)
