My oldest silver of the year so far:jump:

I wound up back at my special spot this evening and found some coins. In total: 33 cents. I found a US dime, some pennies ranging from the 40's to the 70's, a 1965 Canadian silver dime, and a beautiful Canadian 5 cent "fish scale"! It's in such great shape, I'm surprised it looks so good for being 108 years old. I'm totally impressed again by my AT Pro.
So far this season with the Pro, my silver count is pretty good. These two silvers put my silver coin percentage at about 9%. I love this thing!!!

Minty fishscale congrats ! Nice

Thanks! I was lucky to find it as the area was once used as a shooting range. It is littered with a zillion old shotgun shells. The shells register in the 50's to high 60's, so it makes finding good targets in the mid-tones very difficult.

Looks like you've been out to the Smithsonian again Johnny.

Nice find! Where did the fishscale register on the Pro?

Same question where did it register in the tones and VDI number ?

Hey guys, both the "fishies" I have found this year registered at 70-75 before being dug. The first one was 4 or 5 inches deep, and this one was maybe 2 inches. At first I thought it might be an IH penny, but the tone was sweeter than that. I imagine the VDI numbers will decrease as the "fishy" gets deeper because it's so small and thin. That being said, the Pro had NO problem finding these little coins.

Murfar!! I thought you fell off the face of the earth. Long time no see, how's your detecting season so far?
