My oldest find yet...

Went ghost-towning this past weekend. Visited a mining camp that died around 1890. Didnt find a ton of stuff...lots of trash. I did find a toe-guard that would be nailed onto a shoe, and a coin. After a little research, I found the coin to be minted during the reign of Ch'ien-Lung, during the Ch'ing dynasty. That would put it during the period of 1735 to 1796! This, of course, was good news for a person whose previously oldest coin was from 1905.

Way to go!! Welcome to the club! Being here in Japan I have a little more chance to find this type of coin!
If you ever get over here, let me know and we can get you some more!
Good Luck

That top coin you showed, looked like the relief is in reverse. Is that the way the coin is, or is it just an optical illusion?
