This happened about 2 hour's ago.Now I'm really doing the happy dance. Not 4' from where I dug my Mercury Dime. 64 to 65 at 5 1/2" on my DFX. My oldest coin that I have ever found. 1864 2 cent piece. I don't dare to try and clean it anymore. March sure has been good to me. Hi, My name is Robbie and I have a major addiction. :detecting:

OMG....... What a find! I'm jelous for sure as I know many others will be. Great find Robbie, Great find! HH, Nancy

Congratulations Robbie, that is a beauty......:clapping:

Thanks everybody!!! Sorry I had to use the scanner. I couldn't get a very good pic with my camera. This could turn out to be a find of a lifetime for me. I don't know how I will top this. Larry, You will be proud of me. I found it with my 10x12 SEF. The area that I'm hunting is about 20'x20' in the city park. It's pretty trashy but I had great target separation. I have been told it is the oldest park here in town. Now I need to do some more research and find out how old it really is. I wonder what other treasures that the park still holds. Stay tuned.

The scanner did real good and that 10x12 SEF was and still is my favorite coil.

Thanks everybody I greatly appreciate it. You never know what to expect in this hobby. It really makes me wonder what's still buried in the park. If anybody wants to come over the parks here are detector friendly. The only thing they ask is please replace your plugs and clean up after yourself. Thanks all!!!

Not... This is just a stepping stone to older and greater finds, believe me. Keep at it and many first finds will come and others beaten.

Awesome find, Robby. I'm still hoping a 2 center will come my way some day. Sure gets you excited, doesn't it!!
Good luck...and this is only the beginning for sure.
I do miss digging in the dirt, but, I am liking it down here in Panama City Beach, FL. Older finds are much harder to find, tho. Come on Spring Breakers...lose those nice jewelry pieces, lol.

Thanks Steve and Ron!!! I was beyond excited I was ecstatic. Actually I still am. I don't know how I will top it but it won't be from a lack of trying. Going back to the park tomorrow. See if I can get lucky again. :detecting:

That coin is the only 2cent piece I have ever seen that someone has dug from the ground. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!
