I just traded a Tesoro Tiger Shark I had for this 2012 GT. Detector was only used a couple of times.

That is probably the best trade you ever made  good hunting . Jim

I allready have a GT but this one can become my back up detector.

Thats an awesome trade if it was straight up. Those digisearch meters are hard to come buy and the Sov looks to be in great shape.

Now that's a Great Deal........

Great machine, just bought one for my wife and I.
First beach hunt will be on Saturday .

Wow!! Looks like you could squeeze a dollar out of a dime!!:surrender: I had a chance at a near new GT the other day but, my new Jeep keeps draining my wallet for goodies.

I used to own a Tiger Shark. Great machine and nice hardware setup, but I think you for sure got the better end of that deal! I think that GT should have a 3 year transferable warranty on it, right? If so, you're in even better shape. Not that the Sovereigns are prone to break downs. They seem very reliable machines. I think the Digisearch meter was either $125 or $175 brand new, which was outrageous for a simple volt meter, so you've got some added bonus right there alone. Looks like you got the rechargeable pack, stand, and chest/hip mount bag. All icing on the cake. I see it's on an "S" shaft. UK Sovereign? Or some in the US might have came that way too I think. Going to keep the "S" shaft or build a straight shaft for it?

I would have kept the Tiger Shark but I couldn't live without tone alerts for dual land/water use. I'm also not one for machines that are very sensitive to tiny gold because it makes for too bouncy of a ride for my tastes on land, chasing tiny flakes of foil that sounded too good to pass up. The Minelabs will bang even the thinnest of gold rings at amazing depths due to them being an intact loop, which creates a large target in the detection field. That's mostly what I care about except for odd days water hunting when I want to chase finer gold chains or earrings.

I hear the AT Pro isn't as sensitive to fine gold chains/earrings and such as the Tiger Shark is, but the AT Pro is said to be a bit more sensitive to that stuff than a Minelab, so I plan to clean out a section of water with my GT going after all the super deep rings and coins, and then break out the AT Pro and see what finer gold items I might have missed. Seems like the perfect one-two punch. I'm only opting for the AT Pro over the Tiger Shark because I want the LCD screen and tone alerts for using it as a backup on land to my GT when I'm in the mood to swing faster among heavy trash without having to worry as much about a faster sweep masking targets. I'll probably also use it as a fast woods scouter to find areas of activity. After I work it with the AT Pro I'll come back with the GT to see what else might be lurking there still.

Yes the shaft is the S shaft. All the European models come with this type of shaft. I don't know why that is. I have always used the S model shaft so there is no problem there.

I will use this detector as a back up detector for when my other GT brakes down, or when my son is getting a little bit older and we can do some beachhunting together. By that time the GT will be long discontinued but this way he can still use the best beach detector that was ever made. :clapping::clapping:
