My New Vaquero

Got a new Vaquero today from Southern Treasures. Sure hope it does as well as I have heard about. I will use it primarily in searching for relics in trashy areas here in Shiloh, Tennessee...not on the park.

Any Vaquero users out there with comments about their Vaquero and relic hunting?

Thanks so very much.:twodetecting:

:detecting: CONGRATS!!

I got my Vaquero high tone from Brian at Southern Treasures, he is a top notch guy. I really like the detector and it works well with the stock coil and performs very well with the 575 coil in trash and still gets real good depth. I mostly coin hunt, not to much relic hunting. I am sure it will perform great for you.

Good Luck,
Bill G

Set the Discriminate just where the audio breaks up on a piece of wire or nail, super-tune per instructions....will work great for ya...where you suspect deeper target, slow the swing speed down a little...best to you and have fun with the new detector..RichardnTn

Go slow and pay attention to soil conditions. If you notice soil discoloration or if you go from a flat area to a ridge, check your ground balance to make sure it is set properly, in fact make it a habit to check every 15 minutes depending upon where you are hunting. The difference between area's can and will affect the machine, the more "in-tune" you are, the better the signals, hence the more finds. If you don't do this you might spend a few hours detecting and realize when the day is nearly done that your machine is out of balance. Just make it a habit to check the ground balance every 15 minutes. You can do this by switching into all metal and doing the pump test. Hope this helps!
