My new Vaquero

x-ray

New member
Hello! Have just got my new Vaquero, and what a detector!! I have in the past own a X-terra70 and a Safari, and they cant match the Vaquero in any way. I have some great found whit them, but the lightness and the speed of the Vaquero is just amazing. The disc unit on the detector is very capable, i have never digged so little iron. The only issue i can come up whit so fare is the battery capacity, its not poor, but could have been slightly better.

I live in Norway, and its pretty mineralized over here, but the Vaquero was just so god on the saltwater beach. I all so have a Seahunter from Garret, but i maby in the future use the Vaquero on the dry and WET sand!. I think the clue is to groundballance the unit well, and dont pull the sensitivity nob to max. People have the own experience whit different manufacturer, and some like/must have screen and that's ok . I have self been there, but i think in the future it will be very difficult to leave Tesero, and i only have the detector for only a week. Why dont i buyd a Tesero in the first place, i dont really now, but i was mabe a little blended off bells and whistles, and the salesman did his jobb.

I can proudly recommend this detector to everybody who wants a great hobby, whit allot off fun.

Regards

I know how you feel... I started with bells and whistles too.. I was skeptical that a beep and dig could compete with $1000 detectors, but I was quickly convinced too.... 5 years later I'm still stuck on Tesoro ;-) I really appreciate the light weight on long hikes

I understand! I also ran an X-terra. Though I do not have th V (awesome unit) Thes Tesoro lie up has a unit just about for all people. Bells and whistles need not apply, Beale.

Congrats on picking a winner , one tool that you will need is a shovel!!!! HH tigerhank68

Haha! Exactly Hank! Some times at the park, I'd rather use my Compadre so I dont have to dig the 10" deep targets the Vaquero hits!
I don't think you can go wrong with the V, with the right coil(s) it will do whatever you need it to. I was tired of digging by numbers with my F2 (still nice detector for the price though) and realized the visual meter is always just a guess.
