My New Vaquero has arrived......

Dang

Active member
Hoping to take it out for a spin Saturday morning before the it gets too hot!
Do we roll the "R" in Vaguero?

Congrats on the new machine. My Vaquero came in a week ago, but I have to wait until my birthday on the 22nd to use it. I did talk my wife into letting me put it together and test it out for a little while in the yard. My first reaction was that it looked like a toy. I knew it was a small, light machine but it was even smaller than expected. Then I tried it out for less than 5 minutes in my yard and found three coins(clad) all in the 4-6 inch range. I hadn't even read the manual so I know the performance is going to be great once I get some time under my belt with it. It most definitely is NOT a toy! I think I am really going to like my V.

Hey there beerhunter that was my same reaction when i first recieved my silver umax and the asked me if it was some sort of antique metal detector, but for first two hrs i could'nt believe what i was finding with this thing, this is how i fell in love with tesoro equipment

hey there dang keep me posted on your finds with that new vaq and keep a log on your deepest finds so i can compare notes, thanks

Alright! Hoping tomorrow's first entry goes like this "Found 24k gold diamond ring at 10 inches on the heels of local Explorer club members.....No silver found today'

Had my VQ for over 7 ms,haven't even tried the red button yet don't even know if it works, just check other detector users holes with the VQ,see what happens, wish i could get 10x12 concentric instead of WS,WS does go pretty good though, just got rain protector for it yesterday, leaving on permanently it does good at keeping dirt off control box, getting 5.75 concentric, bet i'll be able work that little baby thru the weeds&limbs quick, just about to order small carry bag that tesoro has,the small bag is awesome, the way you can break down detector and put in small bag, believe that is one reason alot of detectors are stolen due to detectorist use big bag to carry detector, don't know if thats a good idea, used to carry minelab in baseball bat bag, worked good, what thief wants a bag of baseball bats.Nut job.

I think the q in vaquero is pronounced like a k and you do roll the r a little:tesoro:

I just got mine also, its nice and light for sure, looks likes its gonna do what I expected. turning up the threshold in disc really brings out the weaker sounding targets but it also makes the overal sound not as good so experiment and find a level that works for you.

It hits all the small jewelry that Ive found

Good luck with it!

Neil

Alright. Gonna take it out this morning for a tad little hunt...hoping everything works as it should......wish me luck!

As pulltab mentioned, you don't even need the pinpoint button, just x the target. I really like that fast retune. Even with the stock coil at high sens it'll give seperate signals for coin size targets spaced at 3 or 4" The 5.75 coil is really nice for trashy areas though.
