1994 .01 in my back yard. Not much to brag about - heck, nothing to brag about - but the 1350 works. It Let me know it was a coin range target, which is all it takes to get me to dig! I still have a long way to go to figgure this thing out, but I like several of the features:
1. The "Rhino-TUFF" spoked coil. It's an elliptical, which I have always wondered about. I like the sweeping effect it gives with its ground coverage. Seems like you cover a bit more ground with each pass.
2. The coil and lower are BLACK. I couldnt get into the white ones - stupid, I suppose - but, hey, that's my input. I like the black ones.
3. The arrow shaped pointers on the display.
4. The Profiling feature. Time will tell if it is all it's cracked up to be.
5. All the other features the GTA series have brought about - lightweight, balance, ease of use.
DISLIKES:
1. In air testing, JEWELRY mode, it didnt detect a small butterfly pendant which I found with my 1266X in low DISC. It registered as low foil, and it is dinky - so it wasn't audible.
The 1350 did its job...the pendant wasnt in discriminate range. But, I would have left it behind _ gasp! _. I'll remember to go RELIC or ZERO discriminate next time I'm in a sand school yard lot, which is where I found it (in all fairness, it just popped and clicked with the 1266X, too. I only scooped it up 'cause the sand is easy to work in). Also, if Im gonna run that low on the DISC, I better learn to determine foil bits from the audio!
2. Will Garrett EVER put twist lock shaft couplings on their detectors? The litle bit of rattlewobble in the shaft bugs the obsessive side of me.
All in all , it's a good thing it's fall now...the GTP will be spending alot of time in it's carrying bag - in the car with me!
Many thanks to mr Brian Good of Washington, whom I got the detector from. Great guy to work with and very understanding of my impatience. Peace out, yo...
