My new toy will be here Monday!! :)

Isn't this your second time around with it?
Why did you dump the etrac and return to the CTX?

I don't think I gave the CTX a fair shot the first time around. Besides it's been 3 months since I've tried a new machine :)

Yes , I've noticed you have a bit of a revolving door policy down there.;)
Being a long time etrac user it has taken me along time to warm up to the CTX. It's not just a different accent for the same language or just an etrac on steroids but one with it's own unique personality. My etrac is finding more and more closet time.

Welcome back Dan but but I heard a rumor the 3030 ctx 2 is coming out this week  Well I hope you have better luck with this one . sube

Well, it is April 1st.....

Ha, good one

All too often I hear the detector mentioned as toys? By the way many complain about about the faulty craftsmanship of the CTX, I feel as many treat it as a toy? Almost four years using my $2000 TOOL, in almost every condition possible, from rain to snow, from fresh to salt water and not a single issue with the machine. The cheap koss headphones, that's another story.

Think of it as a tool, a pretty expensive tool at that. If treated with care, this tool will help you find goodies other tools just can't find.
Good luck.

People sometimes call it a toy because we get pleasure from using it, and it's not necessary for daily living, careers, or even part time jobs. It's used as part of a hobby, so yes, it IS a toy. It's just a toy that is very versatile, and can more than pay for itself with use and understanding.

It is a big boy toy, just a very expensive toy. I treat all equipment with the absolute respect and care as anyone who has purchased a machine from me can testify. I really do take my hobby very serious, sometimes to the extreme, just ask my wife :)
