It seems to be completely different animal(with Explorer)
Tone ID..... have to learn it more.

It's got it's quirks and it can be really frustrating sometimes BUT man alive it's an awful lot of fun for the money. I got mine less than a month ago and I've had nothing but fun since. (my wife says that she's become a metal detecting widow)

It takes a little getting used to but once you figure it out a little ( only been out with mine twice ) it goes deep and accurate. when you lose tone thats because its steel, I like that part
 
Drilled few holes

Just drill extra holes between upper and lower handles
