My new straight shaft!

Water wizard

New member
Hi guys, well here it is! A straight shaft that wader mike kindly made for me. He posted it down, and it was so simple to put together, the bits just clipped off the old shaft and on to the new one. It feels so well balanced, it's like there is no weight now, it's like a pendulum when it swings. I think I will hunt better and for longer now, so that's great.
Many thanks for the straight shaft to wader mike. If you want one ask him to knock one up for you.....

Beauty! Good job on the Plat rings today by the way...That set up looks like some serious gold finder!:clapping:

How do you do it? I mean stand on the wall?

I tilted my head and pulled a muscle in my neck trying to look at the photo!

Nice set up though. It was worth the pain checking it out.

I always get a heart flutter when I see an Excalibur modified.

You will love that set up with the control and battery pods behind the elbow. Makes swinging it for long hours easy.

Very nice.

I like that angle, how does she feel after a few hours?

Well OBN, I'm going on my maiden hunt today! I'll write and post some pics tomorrow when I'm back, fingers crossed, she looks good!

Good Luck, I will watch for an update.....Joe

My straight shaft is so good! I detected for an hour and a half on Fistral beach, in Cornwall and it was so easy and effortless! The straight shaft was so well balanced. I had a choice of where to hunt on the beach. The soft sand at the top, a section of small pebbles lower down or the wet cut up sand with pools on it. I went for the pools and troughs, and waded through the pools for an hour. A one pound coin and a 50p coin were my reward. I went up to the pebble section and searched for a while, but only found junk. I headed over to the large rocks over by the steps to go back to the car, and found a 50p and a 20p coin. Not much, but the detector was the best ever! My arm was totally fine, (and I've been boxing today), so it would have ached if it was going to. Wader mike made the straight shaft for me, it is so good! I'm going to call him tomorrow and tell him! Cheers :) WW

Nice one
Great to find something, even if there was no gold....maybe next time
Was wondering if you had tried it out... it makes all the differance in the world, no arm strain = more fun, & more finds!
Not been out myself for a very long time (Since Devon!)...but ive had an excuse, ive been modifying  and now have a remote pinpoint switch fitted to my excal :surprised:
Thanks Mel and Joe, for all the great info, will post pics of it soon , I really need to get off out to the beech with it now and find some gold :detecting:

:beers:
