I have used a quattro for 3years ! drove 613 miles to get my new se. dose the se work better in all metal.any help would be appreciated! thanks for the help

I'm a new owner of an SE as well. I've gone through a few settings and methods and finally settled on All Metal using ferrous tones. I think it's hard to get use to.. but I'm starting to find the good stuff with these settings.

I documented my learning process with various settings I tried, etc here:

I also think getting a smaller coil has helped me with the AM settings. I'm a firm believer now of AM... thanks to all the help of users on this forum.

I use All Metal on all my machines. Others may have a different opinion depending on the type of hunting and conditions that exist.

Hi edgemano,

All metal and ferrous is the way to go, you will soon get used to the tones and you can always check the smart find screen to see if it's a good target or not.

All the best....Boony

All Metal is the way to go if you have experience with it. It will always give you a better picture of diff. fer. and cond. metals in close prox. of each other. It is more clearer to you that there are two objects close together, one being good and one being not so good.....which is sometimes called iffy, and of course a smaller coil helps to isolate it. Minelab 8 (7.5) is a good all around coil.
